The Knights of Columbus is a global Catholic fraternal organization founded in 1882 by Blessed Michael McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut. Established to provide mutual aid and support to Catholic men and their families, the Knights have grown into one of the world’s largest lay organizations, guided by the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. For well over a century, the Knights have been a quiet but powerful force for good, supporting parishes, strengthening families, and serving communities through countless charitable works—from disaster relief and support for the vulnerable to promoting faith formation and pro-life initiatives.

At Assumption Grotto Parish, the local Knights of Columbus Council carries on this proud tradition with energy and dedication. Known for their warm fellowship and visible presence in parish life, the Council plays a vital role in building community while raising funds for charitable causes. Their popular Lenten fish fries and hearty pancake breakfasts bring parishioners together in fellowship, while parish picnics foster a spirit of celebration and unity. Through the sale of ham and sausage, the Knights generate important support for their many charitable efforts, ensuring that their work extends far beyond the parish grounds. In all they do, the Knights of Assumption Grotto exemplify faith in action, serving both their parish and the wider community with generosity and commitment.
